Our Commitment to Child Safety

Beezy (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a closed campus network built for the Barak Valley Engineering College community. We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and maintain safeguards that meet or exceed platform standards for Google Play and Indian law. This page explains the safeguards, moderator practices, and reporting tools that keep young people safe on Beezy.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Child Safety & CSAE Policy covers every Beezy surface, including:

2. Zero-Tolerance Policy & Definitions

  • Zero tolerance: Any attempt to share, request, glorify, or monetize CSAE material will result in immediate account removal, device ban, and escalation to the appropriate authorities.
  • CSAE content: We define CSAE in line with Indian law (POCSO Act) and international standards. It includes the depiction, solicitation, grooming, or encouragement of sexual abuse, exploitation, or trafficking of minors.
  • Grooming behaviour: We consider repeated attempts to befriend or manipulate minors for sexual purposes a violation even if no explicit images are shared.

3. Age Verification & Access Controls

Beezy is restricted to verified BVEC students and community members. During onboarding we verify institutional email addresses, student IDs, or other college-issued credentials. Accounts suspected of being underage or fraudulent are paused until verified manually.

4. Moderation & Human Review

Beezy maintains a dedicated moderation team with CSAE-specific training. Moderators work across time zones to review reports, proactive alerts, and escalations. Key practices include:

  • 24/7 reporting channels inside the app.
  • Manual review of all CSAE flags within 24 hours (faster for urgent cases).
  • Moderator discretion to block content, suspend accounts, and coordinate with law enforcement.
  • Periodic audits of rumor feeds and anonymous posts to ensure they meet CSAE standards.

5. Proactive Detection & Technology

Beezy combines human moderation with automated tools:

  • Keyword and behaviour-based heuristics to detect grooming patterns, image-sharing attempts, or CSAE code words.
  • Rate limits and link filters that block suspicious file uploads or redirects to known CSAE domains.
  • Device-level bans and account fingerprinting for users removed due to CSAE violations.

6. Reporting & User Tools

Every post, rumor, and message in Beezy includes contextual reporting. Users can:

  • Tap “Report” and choose “Child Safety / CSAE” from the category list.
  • Email exkrogroup@gmail.com with screenshots or deep links.
  • Contact campus authorities, who have a direct hotline to the Beezy moderation queue.

7. Law-Enforcement Cooperation

We cooperate with law enforcement agencies in India and abroad. When CSAE is confirmed, Beezy will:

  1. Preserve relevant evidence securely.
  2. Notify the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) cyber cell or other competent authority.
  3. Assist with lawful data requests following our privacy policy and applicable laws.

8. Education & Community Guidelines

Beezy runs in-app reminders and campus workshops in coordination with BVEC clubs to educate students about consent, reporting, and online boundaries. We publish a short CSAE checklist inside our Community Guidelines so new members understand expectations before posting.

9. Data Handling & Victim Support

When CSAE material is reported, we immediately quarantine the data, restrict internal access, and purge it after legal obligations are met. We prioritize survivor privacy and connect affected students with BVEC counseling services when requested.

10. Continuous Improvement

We review this CSAE framework quarterly alongside external advisors and update our tooling and moderator training whenever new risks emerge. Feedback from users, campus authorities, and regulators directly informs these updates.
